Passion Horse in Joshua Texas

We just got back from Joshua, Texas, where an inspired woman, Debra and her hubby run an authentic horse rescue - Passion Horse. We went to volunteer and meet the horses, and we met some wonderful ones. Baxter, a Belgian/quarter horse gelding, Zodiac - the beatiful black gelding, Zoe - sweet mare. Most of them were "byproducts" of the PMU production line and were headed to be slaughtered for human food and exported to France, Italy, Japan and other horse-is-delicacy nations. However, Debra rescued them and they are living large....

It started raining. Big, strong, Texas-size rain. Horses were running and giddy with delight. Until they all ran back into the stable. I love watching their long manes flow in the wind, their tails up in delight, rolling their big strong bodies in dirt and sliding...children of Mother Earth.
